My experience in making and selling content.

Over the last two years I have gotten pretty familiar with making and selling explicit content on my own and for myself. I have people ask all the time how they can do it for themselves. I do want to preface this in saying that Im not the largest created by far. Its a very competitive market and your audicance is always changing. You can have some customers who will buy anything you offer then one daythey enter a relationship and they are no longer in the market to purchase porn. Or you can have the type of people who just stick around for the free teasers. Making the most for your efforts and time are a tricky balance. As creator I’m alway looking for ways to market and get more clients.

As I’ve stated elsewhere I started really small. I had a specific group of people mainly added on Snapchat who had expressed interest in me sexually. I saw this as an opportunity to get into the market of selling. I created an only fans account. My first go around I used a subscription based account. People would pay a one time fee and see everything. This seemed to do pretty good but it got to the point where I made a couple hundred in one week then nothing. I didnt make that good of content my, lighting was bad and the pictures weren’t that inticing. People didn’t renew. I didn’t see a point in keeping the account so I stopped posting.

After a while I changed tactics I started doing a PPV style site. This worked better. The customer got to choose what they wanted to see and I felt that I was making the money I deserved for my efforts. I tended to price my content on the higher side because not that many people were buying. I did this for a while on and off until I got pregnant with my son. I sold a little pregnancy content but the bigger I got the harder it became and the less sexy I felt.

After my sons birth my body changed in a lot of ways. I had stretch marks, a tummy, rolls, and saggy boobs. I didn’t feel sexy. After about 6 months previous clients were begging to see something. I started my page again and sold some content that I am not super proud of. I started watching other creators and looking to their content for tips and inspiration. I got some lighting and outfits. And watched my angles. The content got even better.

I started using Snapchat as a platform to sell and promote myself. As I progressed I continued getting violations but I was going against guidelines so I wasn’t all that surprised. Im not sure if someone was actually reporting me or if there was some sort of system used to check for key words. I made a separate account and actually had to hire someone on to help me manage the sells. I was making so much money from this snap chat account alone. I even went and bought an Ipad to keep stuff separate and have something solely for work. It was looking up, until the account got banned. I had known it was possible but didn’t think it would happen. Along with that my ipad was device banned. Meaning that if I tried to login to another account it would get suspended. This was horrible I had sold over 50 premium story subscriptions and all of the contacts were lost. A lot of the clients only had me on that snap account and there was no way to reach out. I made a new account on my cell and got a Freind with a lot of mutual clients to shout me out. There where alot of angry people and I didn’t know how to fix it.

I had build myself from nothing once before and I new I could do it again. I started doing some research on ways to get myself out there in a way I hadn’t tried before. I knew of some other sex workers who had done their own websites so I figured why not try. I got to work and within a day I had something. I dropped the link on twitter and announced the new option. I made it where I could get booking for FaceTimes and texting sessions two of my best seller on snapchat. one road block I have run into is the payment methods of taking online booking. I can’t take direct card information since the system does allow payment for explicit content. I had to set it up to have clients pay over different methods and then mark them as paid online.

I’m still learning a lot of different things but I hope that one day Ill have a flawless system in place that is easy to navigate and fits both mine and my consumers needs.

As always I am open to suggestions and I’ll willing to take critique.

Here are some tips I can give to ANYONE wanting to get into the industry.

  • Know your audience. Ask for pointers or recommendations.

  • Spend time chatting with people. Talk to your clients they are here for you and you only.

  • Don’t be ashamed of what you do. If you try to build a platform Anonymously it could take ages to build a brand.

  • Have something people want. Don’t be a plain Jane.

  • Take time for yourself. Your work shouldn’t be the only exciting thing about yourself.

  • Put money into your content. Buy good lighting, clothes, make sure you keep up your appearance.

  • Go to the gym. Not to loose weight but stamina is really important when making content. It’s all about the show. You are an actress and your body is the lines. You need some sort of flexibility and you have to be willing to pose awkward angles.

  • Don’t fake it. The camera can tell if your not enjoying yourself.

  • Watch the face. Your face is a money piece people like to see the desire, pain, and longing in someone’s eyes on camera.

  • Eye contact.

  • Collaborations! Solo content is great but there is only so much you can do.

  • Own it baby. You are sexy and you are wanted. If you don’t have confidence the camera can tell.
